Volunteer FAQ

Who is eligible to volunteer?

We are always interested in individuals who are volunteering their time and energy in exchange for a fun, rewarding experience.  The minimum age to volunteer is 14 years old, but we will accept volunteers who are 12 and older with substantial equine experience.

How do I become a volunteer?

Please contact us via phone (603) 642-3722 or email volunteer@wingsandhooves.org! We ask all of our volunteers to complete an application and attend a required training session offered several times during the year.

Do I need horse experience?

No! Many of our volunteers have never worked with horses before, so we do require your attendance at a training session in order to learn a few helpful hints before assisting with lessons.

When do you need volunteers?

Monday through Saturday during the mornings and afternoons.

Why volunteer?

Without the volunteers at Wings and Hooves, many of our riders would not be able to achieve the beneficial results of therapeutic riding.  The partnership between a horse and rider is truly unique, and our volunteers are integral facilitators of this special friendship while also creating their own meaningful relationships with the horses and riders.  Aside from being a fun time, volunteering with Wings and Hooves is also a rewarding experience.
