Wings and Hooves Therapeutic Riding

Wings and Hooves embraces the therapeutic value of the human-horse partnership and the special friendships that develop between our participants and favorite four-legged friends.  The Horse Buddies Horsemanship Program assists in fostering relationships between participants with their equine counterparts.  The program does not incorporate horseback riding, but instead focuses developing participant’s practical skills including instruction on general horse care, barn management and overall horsemanship – learning opportunities applicable to job, life and school.

The 5-week program meets on Wednesdays for 45 minutes and teaches participants how to brush, tack, lead, and care for a horse while encouraging social interaction among participants and between volunteers, instructors and horses.  Each session accommodates 1- 5 participants and adapts to the various learning styles and needs of the group.

Next Horse Buddies Session to begin Wednesday, April 11, 2012.  Classes begin at 4:00 pm and end by 4:45pm.  Each session is 5 weeks.
